I used this directly in front of my wood fence since my German Sheppards decided to start digging out and it works perfect. I have not had a problem with them digging since

Works well. I am not disappointed. Keeps my Golden from jumping the fence and getting to the highway. I keep it on the lowest shock possible, and I would rather have a little shock then a dog who has gotten hit by a car on the highway. And to answer the question some may ask....yes I have tested the first 3 levels of shock from the collar, and I would not use a level on my dog that I have not tested on myself.

I used this in conjunction with a garden fence. With the fence as a visible boundary, training was not needed. My dog figured out really quick what the beep meant. Set up was easy. As a tip, the border settings are for the full diameter from the wire. The beep occurs in the first 20 percent of the distance, then you get the shock. For example, if you set it at 10, that effectively means five feet on either side of the wire (or above, below, etc). The beep will occur for 1 foot, then the shock will happen for the remaining 4 feet, getting stronger as you get closer. So, if you are doing a double loop design (which I did on the fence), you can actually put the wires closer than 5 feet if you adjust the boundary accordingly. Cool product. If it doesn't work, you can go up to the "Stubborn Dog" collar, which delivers quite a wallop. FYI, with this model, if you dog gets out, they will get shocked if they try and get back in.

Changed my life.Buying this was a 4 step processFor me.1. Finally deciding to buy it. Research. Ordering . And receiving/ reading manual. Definitely read the Manuel before you do anything. It’s a little complicated. Watch YouTube videos on set up.2. Map out the circuit starting with where it plugs in. Mine is plug inside the house which requires a hole through the house and siding. I used an old telephone line hole so I didn’t need to drill. Lucky you if you are starting from the garage.3. Lay in the wire. I needed a straight cutting yard tool to cut through the lawn, I hoses out the cracked in the sidewalk and used a sidewalk/cement caulk to fill and protect the wire.Get the whole circuit back to plug area. Turn on, test.4. Train you dog. Which takes a week or more.Okay, if I read all this I would not have been as enthusiastic to buy. But I really am glad I did. It works great. My dog responded very well. My family is no longer stressed that the dog will run out every time the door opens.Quality product.
