Installed a week ago and so far it is working great!! Our bird dog has only crossed it three times but she is learning. I purchased 2 extra batteries and 2 extra rolls. We bought plastic insulators to fit on our cattle fencing stakes and put them on the bottom of each stake. Time consuming but better than digging a trench ;) Great Price!!

On one of the sides of my back yard there is a section where the fence is only about 4 feet tall and after 3-4 years my dog Haley finally realized she could jump it and hop into the neighbors yard. I had to keep her tied up for a few day while I set everything up and I had to order an extra roll of wire because the one that came with the kit was not enough to wrap around. I'm sure this varies from dog to dog, but she does very well with boundaries and restraint so I have it set very low and after the first shock she learned how close she could get to the fence. I've never had issues with connections since I've set it up. I have the controls in the garage and I love that it has the two lights because I can simply glance over and see that the connection is not broken. This is probably one of the best choices and investment I could've made to ensure her safety and freedom in the yard. I have recommended this to someone in the past who had similar issues, and would recommend for others who struggle with keeping their pets in areas.

I was having trouble with my dogs wanting to run into the road. This stopped it pretty much immediately. Easy, if tedious, installation, but that was probably because I did four acres. You could easily fence a typical suburban yard in less than a day. Highly recommend.

We installed this right on the ground. Training manual said it would take the dog 9-12 weeks but our dog figured it out the first day. He hears the beep and he backs up. He was a runner and he hasn't left the yard yet!

Installation: It takes a little time to get it in the ground, but it is worth it. To put it into perspective, I have just under an acre and it took me and a friend under 5 hours with nothing but a narrow shovel and a large paint stirring stick to push it in the ground. Spring time when the ground is still wet was the perfect time.Does it work: I have a 60 lbs. German Shephard/Blue Heeler mix puppy that is extremely active and very hard headed. It took a few weeks to train him properly and still had to use the highest setting for a while, but he stays in the yard now. I watched him chase a cat and go from a full sprint to a sliding stop when he got close to the boundary line. The only problem I run into is now that he is trained, it is difficult to get him out of the yard. I have to pick him up and carry him over the boundary line while he is squirming because he is afraid of getting shocked. It is great to be able to give him the freedom of roaming his full yard without having to worry about him chasing the neighborhood kids down the street or wondering off.

We have a beagle-ish dog that loves to run after rabbits, etc. This fence keeps her in after just a few days. She learned fast for an old (11 years) dog. We don't have to put the collar on her routinely, just now and then for a reminder. The layout was a bit of a problem. The instructions didn't make it clear that you cannot use the twisted wire in any part of the loop. We ended up having to buy more wire at Lowes to replaced the wire we messed up on.
