Long story short: we had the expensive brand in ground fence for our two little dogs. One of the collars went bad. We got this whole system for less than the cost of one new collar. And more importantly, we are in control of the settings. No more expense service calls just to change the settings on the collar or the strength (width) of the radio field. I was able to install this using the same wire already in the ground. It works just fine. We set the callers to beep only and that's enough for out little guys. And it appears that the battery life and replacement cost will be much better too. ...

The spool was poorly made and it came apart and wadded up. Good product other than that.

Works well. Took a bit for the dog to catch on, but she's trained now and obeys the boundary. I did opt to purchase separate 14AWG dog wire to bury. Now the dog has the freedom to run around the yard. CAUTION: unforeseen side effect is the dog barks at the neighbors now and I have to chase her around the yard to bring her back indoors :-)Was going to buy the higher end with rechargeable collar but glad I got this one.
