We have a dog who is a total escape artist. We have spent nearly $2,000 on fortifications to try to keep her in. We buried 20 pound landscaping bricks along the fence so she could not dig, so she climbed our 6 foot wooden fence to get out! I had used a In-ground fence years ago when I had a 4 foot fence that my lab could jump. It worked like a charm! So, I finally broke down and purchased this one. Easy to install and although our girl got shocked once, she has not gotten loose again in 5 months. She used to get out EVERY day. We give her a treat every time we put the collar on when we have to leave the house. She comes running when we jingle the collar. We did not want to have to resort to shocking her, but she learned after one time and the alternative was her eventually getting run over, stolen, attacked by another dog or taken to the pound. Our PET is SAFE. Thank you!!! ...

Must have. It will fix your family fights about who's turn it is to take the dogs out. Just open the door and let the dogs go do their thing. Don't forget to read the instructions how to set the collar up high or down low. It sounds mean but it keeps the dogs safe by correcting the dogs to stay in their own yard with out you tugging on a leash around the dogs neck. If you can get past the first few times the dogs do try to go out side the wire fence it will not happen often after that first few times. We put the wire right on top of the warm or frozen ground, snow, rain. We keep the transmitter out side under a big bucket to keep it simi dry. ...

So far so good. Will update in 1 week after we have it for a couple days.Side note: I have Siberian Huskies and they are high strung and will dive straight for the fence. Installed the fence in front and back yard and tested to make sure the collars were activated throughout. Then put the collars on the dogs and wow did it make a difference. The first few minutes I walked the dogs around and showed them. Immediately my girl (who is the escape artist) headed for the fence and immediately backtracked when she was shocked. Now she is a tester, so she attempted to map out the yard "to make sure" we didn't miss anything. She was shocked a couple more times and then stayed away from the fence. Then the big test. We took them out front where there is no existing fence and walked them around the yard. Now usually I cant put a leash on them without them dragging me and jetting down the street (probably a funny sight for the neighbors). They tried to do this and immediately after the shock came back and sat down next to me. I was able to let them roam the front yard without a lot of supervision! AMAZING!!! ...

After the sticker shock of getting estimates from professionals, I decided to get this and do it myself. After a month with two dogs I can report the system is working flawlessly. It works just fine and I saved 1300 bucks even with the extra cost of buying an edger trencher. I do have some tips for other do-it-yourselfers. Digging the trench is a pain. After some trial and error I bought a WORX WGB96 12 Amp 7.5 inch Electric Lawn Edger and Trencher. Got it on for around 80 bucks. The serrated teeth chewed through 600 feet of my yard. The other pain is getting on your knees and trying to get that 20 guage wire in the narrow trench. I ended up using a 3 foot brake line from the auto store and stuck the wire through it and just walked along the trench with one end stuck in the ground. 100 times faster than jamming the wire in with a paint stick. Overall, I'm quite pleased with the system. Wasn't hard to set up and the instructions were easy to understand. Took my dogs 2 days to learn and won't leave the yard even with all the squirrels teasing them. I'm happy. ...

The fence works great for us! My parents have had inground fences before so our dog was well trained from visits there. After reading some of the reviews, I was a little skeptical, but it seems to me the dogs were more of an issue than the fence in the poor reviews. One thing I noticed though, is our fence wont work under setting 4 for distance, which is works fine for us, but id an odd little quirk. Batteries last about a month for our dog who is constantly outside, however I just purchased 2 batteries for 12.99 from petco, so its not horribly expensive. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product. ...

We bought this product as we did not need to cover a large area. We have fencing on both sides of the yard and a line of dense bamboo at the rear of the property. In total we needed about 30m.Easy to install, but read the entire directions first and plan the layout. Doing so could save you a lot of heartache. So far it works well. We have an Australian Cattle Dog pup that is high energy and learns quickly. She was trained to stay away from the invisible fence in 3 days. You do have to work with the dog. They are not going to learn to avoid the fence by themselves! ...
